House of Travel’s latest project involved a comprehensive relocation and redesign of their office space to 45 Queen St. This move brought together Orbit and House of Travel under one roof, creating a unified and vibrant workspace. The primary goals of the project included rapid prototyping to ensure the new office layout and design fit within the allocated budget and base build validation, as well as detailed design and furniture relocation. The aim was to develop a cost-effective and futureproof workspace that aligns with the company’s rebound, while also enhancing the company’s culture and supporting their dynamic work environment.
The design narrative for House of Travel’s office is avibrant fusion of Kiwi spirit and global adventures. The overall designincorporates travel-inspired aesthetics and functional spaces to create anenriching and fun work environment. The workspace is designed to give a holidayfeel, reflecting the company’s core business. The staff kitchen and caféfeature a tropical holiday theme with graphic wallpaper and rattan pendantlights, creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Each meeting room isthemed after a particular global destination, with wall paint, acousticlinings, and graphics selected to align with the destination’s uniquecharacteristics.
The new office is conveniently located close to publictransport, making the commute easy and accessible for employees. Additionally,the location is surrounded by various amenities, enhancing the overallwork-life balance for the staff. This project not only provides acost-efficient and futureproof solution but also ensures that the new spaceenhances House of Travel’s culture and supports their journey.
