Cornerstone is a leading online learning platform that offers organizations a forum to manage, recruit, and train people. Their vision of inspiring an all-inclusive population to develop the skills needed to foster their growth gets highly applauded by thousands of New Zealanders. This primary mind set of a client-centred approach is what we observed great synergies with, in respect to one another’s core values.
Entrusted with designing this new space, our brief was to transform their offices into an absolute collaborative and welcoming sphere where our clients would actively work with their learners to provide them with ample resources and a winning edge. Throughout the design process, we ensured flexible conversation and incorporation of the company’s values into design interventions. Through the strategic planning of an open workspace, we have created a free-spirited environment that restores productivity and employee wellness.
The ceiling treatment and furniture fit-outs are one of the key deliverables for the project. Cornerstone intentionally reflects an eclectic and colourful design theme that pushes their people further into problem-solving and creative thinking abilities. Due to the contrasting tufted and mesh chairs, marble look embellished dining bench top, and a striking piece of wooden seating, a sense of dynamism flow around the space that creates cohesiveness. Artificial lighting plays an eye-catchy role gleaming through the wooden partitions and coves to create interesting patterns.
The office space unfolds itself into innumerable formal and informal seating zones, snooker and table tennis play zone, dining zone, and various relaxation zones. This seating when blended with renovated carpet tiles and wooden flooring creates a warm and comfortable look. A tinge of industrial feel amalgamates with an overall contemporary setting of the space by flaunting exposed brick on the walls that gives a striking raw character. In contrast, our dear plants never fail to miss a spot in our office floor designs – hanging planters, free-standing shrubs and partitioned herbs set themselves as a focal point that tends to draw all the attention.
